New Jersey Department of Corrections Renews EHCA Residential Reentry Programs

The New Jersey Department of Corrections has renewed Education & Health Centers of America's Residential Reentry Programs in New Jersey after a competitive bidding process that took place earlier this year.
Contracts were awarded to Talbot Hall in Kearny, The Albert M. "Bo" Robinson Assessment and Treatment Center in Trenton and Tully House and The Harbor in Newark. Talbot Hall and Bo Robinson serve as New Jersey's two assessment centers, where residents are provided a risk needs assessment before placement into a community-based work release program. Education & Health Centers of America, Inc. in conjunction with its subcontractor, Community Education Centers, Inc. provides therapeutic correctional services with an empirically documented record of reducing recidivism at the programs that it operates.
Talbot Hall & Bo Robinson Receive Perfect ACA Accreditation

The Albert M. "Bo" Robinson Assessment and Treatment Center in Trenton, New Jersey and Talbot Hall in Kearny, New Jersey were recommended for American Correctional Association (ACA) Adult Community Residential Services (ACRS) reaccreditation after two day audits
Bo Robinson and Talbot Hall have an amazing 10 straight years of perfect accreditations since receiving 100% on their initial audits. EHCA’s programs reduce recidivism through life-skills training, substance abuse treatment, and education and vocational training that is suited to the specific needs of program participants. All employees delivering the programming on a day-to-day basis are committed to common goals: maintaining a positive environment, modeling positive behaviors of program participants, and effectively using cognitive behavioral management techniques. All of EHCA’s facilities provide transition along a continuum of care—from prison to community.
Research Opportunity for Mentoring Program

Education & Health Centers of America submitted a proposal in response to the Department of Justice Second Chance Act Adult Mentoring and Transitional Services for Successful Reentry Program FY 2013. EHCA was awarded the mentoring project under Category 2A: Promoting Successful Reentry through Responsible Fatherhood/ Motherhood.
As part of the grant, EHCA is seeking to partner with a University to evaluate the mentoring program along a number of dimensions. The University partner will track the outcomes of the 100 men and 50 women participants. Interested parties should send an email to info@ehcamerica.org requesting the full Request for Proposal. Proposals are due April 21, 2014.
